Troy University

           Troy University is a comprehensive public university located in Troy , Alabama , United States . It is based on 26 February 1887 as Troy State normal school in the Arkansas State University System by an Act of the Alabama Legislature . It is the flagship university of the Troy University system with its main campus enrollment of 9,000 students and the total enrollment of all Troy University campuses 31000 . Troy University region by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACS ) accredited award associate , Baccalaureate , Master's education specialist and doctoral degrees .
         In August 2005, Troy State University , Montgomery , Troy State University , Phenix City, Troy State University , Dothan , and Troy State University ( Main Campus ) all merged under one accreditation Troy University to better reflect the institution's global mission . Before the merger , each campus is independently accredited and merging of these campuses helped a stronger institution to create by eliminating overlapping services and barriers to students . The merger combined talents and resources of staff, faculty , and administrators in a single highly effective and competitive university .

         Today, the University serves the educational needs of students in four Alabama campuses , sixty teaching sites in 17 U.S. states and 11 countries . Troy University graduates has more than 100,000 alumni all 50 states and many foreign countries . Troy University is known as Alabama 's International University for his extensive international program in attracting foreign students from around the world .

       Troy University offers 46 bachelor's degree programs jointly , 22 master's degree programs and one doctoral program with an overall selective acceptance rate of 62 % .

Campus :

       Troy University 's campus is located near the center of Troy . The campus sits along rolling hills with ancient oak trees present along the streets and the rest of the campus . A very small lake called Lake      Lagoona sit in front of the university 's Sorrell Chapel .
          The university closed the Trojan Oaks Golf Course in a new basketball arena building , but remnants of the course is still present and widely used in practice .
